It is certainly Bible-based and founded on God’s essential character of goodness, grace and love. It could be a valuable resource in helping families find healing, release from grief. It is completely sincere, heartfelt and thorough. It will help the grieving understand that they are in a journey; sorrow isn’t resolved instantly, but through a process – to acceptance and peace.

This book would definitely be helpful to families experiencing the loss of a loved one. It is so important when the difficulties of life affect us to have the truth of scripture. This book is beautifully and tenderly and factually written to learn what the scripture says about suffering.

This book would be a great way to draw someone, who is mourning the loss of a loved one, towards Christ. This book would be a blessing for believers and possibly a life-changing blessing for the unsaved.

I particularly enjoyed the selection of the hymns and various scriptures each day. My heart was full of past memories when a book like this would have drawn me sooner to my Lord. I could hardly put the book down to do other things!

The Word of God lined up with the words written in this book. I lost my nephew 15 years ago. This book would have really helped my healing process. I would give this book to anyone who is grieving and suffering great loss. This book was a blessing for me. I also recommend this book be used and read as a daily devotional for those who are suffering the loss of a loved one.

We were very impressed with this book. We enjoyed reading both the narrative and the thirty-one-day study. This book might appeal to a grieving individual, more than a family. I can imagine using it myself. I would give it to a grieving family. In each day’s lesson, the Scripture, the story, and the hymns all closely support the same theme. There seems to be a progression from Day 1 to Day 31, helping to improve the grieving person’s outlook and draw him closer to God. The salvation dialog on page 15 will be helpful for parents who are unsure of the process.

In my opinion this book is doctrinally accurate. This book would be helpful to families experiencing the loss of a loved one because a personal testimony from another person, always encourages the person to understand they are not alone in their struggles and God is always there for them. On page 47, it struck home with me personally when I have gone through trouble. It reaffirmed what God says about trouble in James 1:2-4. The first time I realized God said, ‘Consider it pure joy…’, it made me mad at God. I truly enjoyed the words of hymns given. On page 49, again, what an encouragement to ‘thank God for the burden of sadness and fear, to give it to the Lord. Here it is. It is too much for me.’ (such humble honesty). It is true, ‘The burden helps me to learn more about our God and His ways. What He expects of me. In Jesus name. Amen

Very helpful! Helped us nine years after our loss.

I have read it completely through 9 times. I wrote down 65 years of what grieved me. Yes, that’s right, I was surprised. They all fell into about 2 columns and how many times the Lord helped me ‘reboot’. Unpacking emotions and sin into a book that explains the need and how for salvation is tough and you’ve done a good job.

I think this book would be helpful to families who have suffered the loss of a loved one. It would be especially helpful to a family, if they were not familiar with the Bible and where to find scripture to comfort them. In my opinion the book would be helpful to someone if they apply themselves to reading the prayers, scriptures and songs and applying them to their lives.

Using God’s word and hymns is good to lift the hearts of those who have lost a loved one. I liked the way the story was used to show how God works in our lives and how we need Him.
